The Solar Plexus Chakra: How to Tap into Manipura’s Energy

The Solar Plexus Chakra or Fire Chakra or Manipura is the one responsible for the transition from simple to complex emotions, energy, assimilation, and digestion. It is the center of our willpower, grit, self-esteem, and energy transformation.  

Manipura is the center of the energy system of the human body. This chakra is associated with the color yellow and the element of fire. The solar plexus is located at the upper part of the belly where the diaphragm rests. This is the third chakra and is subjected to the element of fire. This chakra helps to regulate the energy associated with action, identity, intention, and vitality.

Here’s what happens when your solar plexus chakra is balanced and healthy:

  1. You’re assertive, confident, empowered, and vibrant;
  2. You’re comfortable with your own skin;
  3. You create healthy boundaries;
  4. You have a harmonious relationship with your loved ones.

Illnesses, stress, and emotional conflicts can cause blockage in the solar plexus chakra. When it’s blocked or imbalance, you may experience the following symptoms:

  1. Overeating or overindulgence;
  2. Feeling powerless and being too dependent;
  3. You’re insecure and unassertive;
  4. Digestive problems like constipation, ulcers, IBS. 

When the solar plexus chakra is blocked, there are various physical and non-physical signs that can emerge. It can also be blocked through one’s unique combination of facts, fears, personal experiences, and negative memories. 

Solar Plexus Chakra healing is the practice of opening, balancing, and purifying the solar plexus chakra within our bodies. It employs a variety of holistic healing remedies to bring alignment to the mind, body, soul, and spirit. When this chakra is blocked, here are some exercises to heal it: 

  1. Self-care is a must – One of the best ways to balance this chakra is through practicing self-care. By practicing self-care, you’ll clear this chakra of any blockages. 
  2. Journaling – If you’re having trouble with expressing and verbalizing your thoughts and feelings, try to record them in a private journal. Make a daily habit of recording your thoughts and emotions. Let yourself freely flow through your pen and paper. 
  3.  Cut ties with negative and critical people – If you can’t cut ties with these people permanently, try to limit your interactions with them. They are energy vampires who will feed off from you and you don’t need them in your life.  
  4. Aromatherapy – Use herbs such as turmeric, ginger, cumin, and cinnamon. 
  5. Sound Healing Therapy – Sound healing therapy is suited to purify the solar plexus chakra. Play music with many E musical notes. Tone your voice and listen to binaural beats to activate and clear all the chakras through alternating sound waves. 
  6. Yoga – Practicing yoga poses stabilizes and aligns with the chakra system. The Plank Pose yoga is useful for balancing the heart chakra. 
  7. Authentic positive affirmations – Positive affirmations have been proven to make yourself feel better. If you’re normally kind to people, all the more reason that you need to be kind to yourself. Practice authentic positive affirmations like “I am responsible for my choices and happiness” or “I am strong and courageous” or “I embrace the person who I was yesterday, is today, and will be someday”. 
  8. Wear and Eat Something Yellow – Since the yellow color is associated with the solar plexus chakra, eat yellow-colored foods such as banana, lemon, corn, pineapple, and yellow capsicums.  Wear something yellow to stimulate your solar plexus chakra.
